Design Movement Inspired Clocks
Broadening student awareness of designers that have shaped the designs of both the present and past is an important part of the course. Understanding their influences, the style of their work and how they inspire current designs is an excellent way to get students considering and exploring their own ideas.
The clock project involves research around designers of the students’ choosing and developing a product based around the style of these. They work through initial concepts, evaluating, developing and modelling before planning and documenting the progress of the manufacture.
This final project of the year is excellent preparation for the format of the upcoming NEA.
