Key Stage 3

The lessons provide students with a wide range of activities (games, songs, grammar exercises) which include all types of learners. Lessons are visual and teachers use a lot of pictures and/or mimes when introducing new vocabulary. Lessons are delivered in the target language as much as possible and students are encouraged to interact in French or Spanish every lesson via group work.
The curriculum at KS3 is engaging and allows for differentiation for all abilities. Students are encouraged to participate at every opportunity, and they enjoy getting rewarded with points eventually allocated to their house. Participation in lessons supports students’ confidence as well as respect towards one another in the classroom.
Our curriculum is inclusive in regard to race, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation and promotes the respect for all cultures. We regularly review and amend our schemes of work so we are aware what we need to develop for all students to make progress.
