Our Vision

Economics is about choice and the impact of our choices. It relates to every aspect of our lives, from the decisions we make as individuals or families to the structures created by governments and firms. Economics is a challenging and dynamic subject taught through a combination of approaches both inside and outside the classroom including presentations, videos, trips and external lectures.

Economics is a highly academic subject and is very well respected by both universities and employers. The skills learnt in economics will prepare you well for careers in economics, law, politics, business and a wealth of others.

The people suited to this course are high achieving individuals, who are not intimidated by subjects such as Math and Science but also relish essay writing and learning about current affairs and governmental objectives. This is a course that will help you with a wide range of degree courses from either areas of science or humanities.

You will study the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics and will have the opportunity to develop an interest in fields such as government policy and objectives, developing countries, behavioural economics, the distribution of income and wealth: poverty and inequality. Students will have the opportunity to study a range of voices and global economies to reflect wider global perspectives.
