Monitoring progress

The Science Department use a range of formative and summative assessment methods to monitor progress. Each individual taught unit is assessed to allow teaching staff to offer effective and targeted intervention and ensure every student makes the progress we feel they are capable of. Each year group has 3 full assessments that all students will sit, this allows us to compare the progress of the girls with each other to ensure that every girl is maximising her achievement. Progress is reported through the whole school ROP (Record Of Progress) system, but parents are welcome to contact science teachers directly for a more detailed discussion about progress at any time throughout the academic year.
