Church Background and Worship
St Saviour’s and St Olave’s is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school within the Diocese of Southwark, and we are proud to be part of the Woodard Schools family. We are dedicated to upholding the values of academic excellence, exceptional pastoral care, and a strong Christian ethos.
At the heart of our school is this Christian ethos, which shapes everything we do. We are committed to living out our faith, and this dedication is reflected in the actions of our Governing Body, staff, and students alike.
Our faith is central to daily school life, beginning with our collective worship each day. This includes a range of activities, from full school assemblies to the intimate Thought for the Day reflections in form groups. Additionally, we hold regular Eucharist services in our school chapel, offering moments for quiet reflection and spiritual connection.
Two of the most significant occasions in our school calendar take place at Southwark Cathedral: the Christmas Carol Service and our Commemoration and Thanksgiving service. These services serve as a powerful reminder of our school’s long-standing connection with the parish of St Saviour, Southwark, and offer a meaningful opportunity for our entire school community to come together in worship and gratitude.
