Fantastic A Level Results 2018

St Saviour’s and St Olave’s is celebrating another fantastic set of A Level results.  Despite all the talk of harder and more rigorous exams St Saviour’s girls have exceeded expectations with A*/B grades above targets and over 80% of grades being A*/C.  Headteacher Catherine May said “I am absolutely delighted that once again the efforts of our students, and their teachers, has been rewarded in such a way.  Our girls will be going on to pursue their dreams in a wide variety of institutions, many of them Russell group, and I am confident they will enjoy further success.  With the support of their families it has been a joy to watch them flourish”.

St Saviour’s students will be going on to study an extremely diverse range of subjects including Medicine at Cambridge, Law at Brighton, Architecture at Ravensbourne, Nursing at Kings, Social work at Birmingham, whilst others will take up apprenticeships. This is a real testament to the success of a small and purposeful sixth form.

The preliminary headline figures are that 48% of all grades were A*/B, and 83% were A*/C grades.

Assistant Headteacher, Luana Munro, added “We have a great tradition of students leaving St Saviour’s to study medicine, and of girls gaining places at the Oxbridge colleges, and this year is no exception.  Amongst a number of high achieving students, Maisie Fitzgerald achieved grades of A* A* A, and will take up her place at Pembroke College Cambridge to study medicine. We are delighted for her, and for all of our students as they leave here with both the qualifications and the personal qualities that will ensure they continue to thrive.”

Students were keen to put on record their thanks and appreciation of the dedication and efforts made on their behalf by all the staff in the school, but especially their teachers. As one happy achiever put it - “We couldn’t have done it without you!”.
