Library iPad Use Policy
In addition to traditional resources, the library provides access to iPads that can support students in their learning. The following guidelines ensure that the iPads are used appropriately, safely, and in line with school policies:
- School-Related Use Only: The iPad is to be used exclusively for school-related activities and academic purposes.
Responsibility for Care: Students are responsible for the safe handling, proper care, and timely return of the iPad. It should be handed back to the librarian or designated staff member after use.
- Data Management: Students must ensure that all personal data, files, and digital footprints are completely removed from the iPad before returning it to the library.
- Secure Storage: While moving between lessons, students must keep the iPad secure in their school bag to avoid damage or theft.
- Device Connections: Students are not permitted to link the iPad to personal devices, such as AirPods or Bluetooth headphones, unless authorised by staff.
- Use of iPad camera: Students may not take photos or videos of themselves or others on the iPad unless they have prior authorisation from staff.
- App Installation: Only school-approved apps and software may be installed on the iPads. Students are prohibited from downloading or installing unauthorised apps.
- Misuse Consequences: Misuse of the iPad or failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the loss of iPad privileges and additional consequences as deemed necessary by school staff.
By following these guidelines, students ensure the iPads remain available and functional for everyone’s academic benefit. If a student fails to adhere to any of these rules, they may be restricted from using the school iPads, and further disciplinary actions may be taken.
