Year 13

Year 13 Home Learning

Whilst the school is closed we will continue to set work to enable students to work independently at home.

Please use the table below as a guide to what work Year 13 students should be completing. This page will be updated regularly and more work will follow as we continue to follow the government guidance around the reopening of the school. Further details will also be posted on the website. Under the curriculum section we have listed each subject and within each subject students can find details of the work that has been set for their year group.

Subject

Home Learning

English

  1. Students revise the exam set texts.
  2. Students complete their coursework.

Maths

Working using online text book.

Further Maths

  1. Students need to work form the course text book.
  2. Work will also be emailed by the teacher.

Biology

Students are to read a minimum of 2 articles a week from Nature, chemistry World or physics World to support their understanding in readiness for their degree studies.

Chemistry

Students are to read a minimum of 2 articles a week from Nature, chemistry World or physics World to support their understanding in readiness for their degree studies.

Physics

Students are to read a minimum of 2 articles a week from Nature, chemistry World or physics World to support their understanding in readiness for their degree studies.

Religious Studies

  1. Year 13 have completed Paper 1: Philosophy and Ethics content and are currently studying Paper 2: Christianity and Dialogues topics. As such each class has access to a Google Classroom or Edmodo and have a code from their Religious Studies teacher. Students are to access the class work uploaded by their teacher on the respective platform and submit it on the platform ready for it to be assessed.
  2. Students without access to the online platform have matching booklets to complete.
  3. Students are to continue working on their revision calendar. They are to use the textbook, revision guide and resources on the Department Edmodo page to support them with this. Students can email their Religious Studies Teacher for extra support.

French

  1. Kerboodle - Complete "Politique et Immigration" chapter.
  2. Memrise - Work to be set at any time by the teacher – keep checking for updates.
  3. For platforms other than Linguascope, students to email members of the department if login details/passwords are unclear and teachers will help.

German

  1. Kerboodle - Work from the AQA higher book, chapter 5 – home and local area.
  2. Memrise - Work to be set at any time by the teacher – keep checking for updates.
  3. For platforms other than Linguascope, students to email members of the department if login details/passwords are unclear and teachers will help.
  4. Finish chapter 6 on the Wiedervereinigung, re-watch Lola rennt and re-read Der Besuch der alten Dame.

Spanish

  1. Memrise - Work to be set at any time by the teacher – keep checking for updates.

Travel and Tourism

Work will be emailed by the teacher.

History

  1. Mr Taggart will monitor students’ coursework which will be sent to him electronically.  He will also provide revision resources for the Stuarts. 
  2. Ms Quigley will send through the lessons for Deng Xiaoping  to students via email with learning resources to be completed by students at home, as well as guided notes and revision material for Russia and China.

DT Resistant Materials

With the uncertainty over how grades will be awarded it is really important that year 13 Product Design students complete their NEA portfolio in as much detail as possible. Products are currently not complete but it may be necessary to reflect on the folders when assessing progress – however as of yet this has not been made clear to us.

Students have a list of what work needs to be included.

Health and Social Care

Students need to continue to work on your assignments for unit 10

Media Studies

  1. Students should be completing their coursework. Their teacher will use online learning platform to check progress with this.
  2. The Media teachers will send learning resources via online platforms. Instructions will be given alongside the resources.
  3. Keep reading as many newspapers as possible, particularly the front pages.

Computer Science

Students need to check the class Edmodo. 

BTEC Information Technology

  1. All class work and homework set will be sent via email to students.
  2. Revise Unit 1 content at: https://www.knowitallninja.com/ and check school email

Performing Arts

Students will be beginning to work on their new assessment units 'Performance Workshop' and 'Performing Arts Business.' They will receive, via school email, detailed instructions and feedback from their class teacher, Ms Murphy. 

Drama

A-Level Drama and Theatre - Students are completing a mock exam each week. They will receive, via school email, detailed instructions and feedback from their class teacher, Ms Murphy. 

Art

Students have been set work to complete by their class teacher, Ms Duvoisin-Zanchi. This forms part of their exam unit. They will continue to receive work and feedback via school email.

Photography

Students have been set work to complete by their class teacher, Mr Williams. This forms part of their exam unit. They will continue to receive work and feedback via school email

Music

  1. Essays and listening tasks relating to the areas of study will be set.
  2. Students will also get some wider listening which is important for the course.
  3. All work will come to you through Google Classroom.

Economics

  1. Lessons and associated tasks will be on relevant Google Classrooms.
  2. Booklets distributed to complete to consolidate knowledge.
  3. Exam questions to be completed and pictures uploaded in order to be marked.
  4. Question sheets will be produced to coincide with any Economics related programme / event to complement your studies.

Sociology

  1. Lessons and associated tasks will be on relevant Google Classrooms. 
  2. Exam questions to be completed and pictures uploaded in order to be marked.
  3. All Quick Check Questions for each chapter to be completed.
  4. Question sheets will be produced to coincide with any Sociology related programme / event to complement your studies.

Psychology

  1. Lessons and associated tasks will be on relevant Google Classrooms. 
  2. Exam questions to be completed and pictures uploaded in order to be marked.
  3. Question sheets will be produced to coincide with any Psychology related programme / event to complement your studies.

Business Studies

  1. Lessons and associated tasks will be on relevant Google Classrooms.
  2. Question sheets will be produced to coincide with any Business related programme / event to complement your studies.

Where appropriate, students can submit work via email to their class teacher.  In addition, if they have a problem accessing the Online Learning please also contact them directly via email.

Feedback for students

Where possible, the students work will be marked and feedback will be given via the Online Learning platform or through email.
