Year 10 Home Learning
Whilst the school is closed we will continue to set work to enable students to work independently at home.
Please use the table below as a guide to what work Year 10 students should be completing. This page will be updated regularly and more work will follow as we continue to follow the government guidance around the reopening of the school. Further details will also be posted on the website. Under the curriculum section we have listed each subject and within each subject students can find details of the work that has been set for their year group.

Biology |
All students should be directed to the online learning packages called KERBOODLE. On this site they will be focusing their learning on the topic of chapter 11. HOMEOSTASIS from their GCSE Biology book working through pages 160-181 by reading and answering questions. Additional tasks and links will also be available on Google Classroom. |
Chemistry |
All students should be directed to the online learning packages called KERBOODLE. On this site they will be focusing their learning on the topic of chapter 8. RATES AND EQUILIBRIUM from their GCSE Chemistry book working through pages 128-147 by reading and answering questions. Additional tasks and links will also be available on Google Classroom. |
Physics |
All students should be directed to the online learning packages called KERBOODLE. On this site they will be focusing their learning on the topic of chapter 7. RADIOACTIVITY from their GCSE Physics book working through pages 92-111 by reading and answering questions. Additional tasks and links will also be available on Google Classroom. |
Religious Studies |
Students in Year 10 will be focusing on their fifth AQA GCSE RS unit, Islam Practices, this summer half term. This work will be set, completed and monitored via Google Classroom and as such it is imperative that all Year 10 students have joined their Google Classroom. If there are issues with joining the classroom, please contact the RS Teacher via email.

Topic: Ecosystems, Tropical Rainforests and Hot Deserts

DT Resistant Materials |
Task 1: Complete all 5 designs for your chosen product. Annotate and colour (colouring is optional). Task 2: Plastics theory activities. Information sheets and activities have been given to students. Task 3: People, culture and society activity. Students will need to do some internet research around market pull and technology push as well as drawing on their own opinions as a designer to answer the questions. Task 4: Complete the test on the theory work completed so far. This should be done without their books. They may then refer back to their books and add any missing detail in a different colour. Students present this week have been given all of the resources they need for these tasks. Anyone absent can collect a pack from school. A date for this will be given in due course. The test will also be emailed to the students. Work added since return from Easter Holiday: New tasks 1&2: Woods and sustainability written tasks. Type up answers to questions and email both to Miss Hall New task 3: Design activities. Two separate competition that can be entered to demonstrate your creativity. Full details of entry requirements have been emailed to yr 10 DT students. New task 4: BBS bitesize. AQA DT. A wide range of tasks to be attempted. All core technical element tasks can be attempted – including test at the end of each unit. Specialist technical material for our school is polymers. This section in bitesize should be used as revision for the elements of this topic covered so far. Some not yet covered can be used as new learning tool. Again, complete tests at the end of the units. |
DT Food Preparation and Nutrition |
Task 1: Use the internet to research foods from different cultures and traditions. Complete the social factors affecting food choice task. This can be done as a PowerPoint or Word document. |
Computer Science |
Students are developing their Python programming skills and reviewing Component 1 content. Please check Google Classroom for details. |
Drama |
Students are working on exam practice and the Live Theatre element of the exam. Students will be emailed weekly with set tasks by Ms Wilson. |
Art |
Students have been set work to complete by their class teacher, Ms Duvoisin-Zanchi. This forms part of their 'Objects of Desire' coursework. They will continue to receive work and feedback via school email. |
Music |

Feedback for students
Where possible, the students work will be marked and feedback will be given via the Online Learning platform or through email.
