The way in which students at St. Saviour’s and St. Olave’s School will learn about Science is summarised in our department vision statement:
Science is relevant to all; its knowledge and development throughout history and cultures underpins our understanding of everything from early Islamic medicine to global agreements on climate change.
The vision of the team is that all students study science in an intuitive way to build the resilience necessary to attempt to understand the why, how and what about their surroundings that they have inherited.
We aim to promote wisdom through social responsibility as 21st century citizens, such that every girl is equipped with the tools to make the right decision that leads to a sustainable future for ourselves, respects our environment and the universe.
We seek to present STEM subjects as a viable career option for our pupils by developing their confidence in science throughout their time at the school and by exposing them to careers and opportunities they can become the makers of our scientific future.
