Sixth Form Exam Results 2019

A-Level Press Release 15th August 2019

St Saviour’s and St Olave’s is celebrating another year of strong A-Level results, which exceed national averages. We are pleased that at St Saviour’s our student entry numbers have increased at a time when there has been a decrease in A-Level entries across the country.

Our provisional headline figures for all A-Level subjects are 48% A*-B grades and 83% A*-C grades. We are especially pleased with our A*-C grade which is 8% above the national average.

Our provisional headline figures for all subjects (including A-Level equivalences) are also very positive with 45% A*-B grades and 77% A*-C grades. These grades also exceed the national averages.

Deputy Headteacher Michelle Ferguson said, “I would like to congratulate all the students getting their results today. We are so proud of our students and recognise the hard work of the staff at our school and the support of the students’ families who have helped them along the way. Our students are resilient and ambitious and it is a pleasure to play a part in helping them to achieve their potential. Our girls will be going on to pursue their dreams in a wide variety of institutions, many of them Russell Group universities.”

Outgoing Head of Sixth Form, John Breslin said, “We are delighted with a bumper   crop of A-Level results that show our students continue to exceed expectations. Credit must go to our teaching and support staff, but most of all to the students themselves, who really are ‘makers of the future’. However, I am most impressed by our students’ maturity in their choice of destinations and pathways; whether it is reading classics, medicine or engineering at university or taking on high level apprenticeships with the Treasury, St Saviour’s alumni are able to go out and make their mark on the world in the best possible way.”
