About Us

Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to St Saviour’s and St Olave’s.

It is a real privilege to welcome you to St Saviour’s and St Olave’s Church of England School — and a particular privilege to be the seventh Headteacher of our school since 1903.

That is an extraordinary record of continuity and stability. Having been part of St Saviour’s and St Olave’s for many years, I know what makes this school special and the strength of the community around it.

We are a small school, and that is one of our strengths. Our students are known as individuals. We know their strengths, interests and ambitions, and build strong relationships with girls and their families. We want every young woman to feel safe, loved, cared for, nurtured and valued.

We also have a long and proud history of high achievement. We expect our students to be ambitious, with excellent teaching, high expectations and rich opportunities for every girl to achieve her very best.

As a girls’ school, we give young women the space to find their voice, develop confidence and pursue ambitious futures. In our Sixth Form, this goes beyond examination success: students develop academically, culturally and personally, gaining the knowledge, experiences, independence and character to take their next steps with confidence.

Our Christian foundation is at the heart of who we are. We believe every young person is created in the image of God, deeply loved and full of God-given potential.

Our place in the heart of London, together with our long-standing relationships with Livery Companies and wider partners, gives our students exceptional opportunities beyond the classroom. They gain access to people, places, experiences and networks that broaden horizons and enrich their education. These opportunities benefit every girl, whatever her background or starting point.

St Saviour’s and St Olave’s is rooted in faith, ambitious in expectation and transformative in impact. I am proud to lead the school and build on its many strengths with courage and confidence.

I want our students to leave knowing their worth, confident in their abilities, courageous in pursuing their ambitions and ready to make a difference — proud to carry the spirit of St Saviour’s and St Olave’s wherever they go.

With very best wishes,

Michelle Ferguson
