Cambridge Technical Diploma In Business Level 2
Students will be able to study the Cambridge Technical course in Business. This course offers a diverse and interesting option. The Diploma qualification of this course will be equivalent to 4 GCSE’s Grades A*- C in total. The course will provide opportunities for students to develop a range of skills and techniques, such as developing research skills, improving learning performance, solving problems and working with others.
The course consists of ten coursework units of study. Students will be given an assignment for each unit and will produce ‘evidence’ to meet Pass, Merit or Distinction grade. There will be opportunities to re-take Maths and English at GCSE, alongside the OCR courses, for those students needing to improve grades to C’s. The Business units will include the opportunity to investigate how organisations operate and how they market their products. Students will investigate how communication in business has developed and how finance is managed. Units of study include:
- Customer Service
- Business Ownership
- Business Structure
- Business Ethics
Students will take part in visits and activities to support their learning to include:
- Seminar at Museum of London in Docklands
- Customer Service training
- London City Airport
- Various business organisations in the local area
Students will have access to a wide range of classroom resources. There are opportunities to develop ICT and research skills as well as learning about how organisations operate in today’s world.
On successful completion students will gain the underpinning knowledge to progress to Applied A Levels in Business and Travel and Tourism alongside other A levels, Level 3 courses at college, apprenticeships or into employment.
